Setting up admin controls on templates and elements in organisations

As an admin, you can control the types of elements and templates for different roles in your organisation.

You can also restrict access to elements not covered by Canva’s IP indemnity.

Canva’s IP indemnity is only available if you’re on a Canva Enterprise plan with 100 or more paid seats and is subject to the terms and conditions set out in your subscription agreement.

Set up role-based access to templates and elements

  1. From the homepage, click on
    gear icon (Settings).
  2. Under your team, click on
    Permissions.
  3. Click on the Canva content tab.
  4. Click the Who can access the templates library?
dropdown. You can choose to assign access to:
    • Admins and brand designers
    • Everyone
  5. For elements, go to the Elements section and click on Manage elements. In the Manage element access window, mark the element's checkbox to enable them.
  6. Click on the element’s
dropdown and choose who can access the selected elements.

Note: If you deselect an element, it'll be disabled for all users.

Set up role-based access to elements covered by Canva’s IP indemnity

You can filter and only show visual library assets for which Canva will indemnify eligible* customers in the unlikely event they receive a third-party infringement claim.

*Eligibility criteria: This indemnity is only offered to customers on a Canva Enterprise plan with 100 or more paid seats and is subject to the terms and conditions set out in your subscription agreement.

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Click the Who can access elements and fonts NOT covered by Canva’s IP indemnity?
    dropdown.
  2. According to your organisation’s policy, you can assign access to:
    • Everyone
    • Admins and brand designers
    • Admins only
    • No one
